Supervisory Management Programme

This interactive training programme is intended for those who are currently involved in, or about to take over, a middle management, supervisory or team leader position. The programme will deal with all supervisory issues in a clear and practical manner with useful guidelines every step of the way. All training modules are spaced out to facilitate real learning and implementation. Certificate of attendance given on courses completion.
Supervisory Management In Person Programme which runs one morning per month from 9.30am – 1pm at The Maldron Hotel D.22
Each delegate must complete 3 morning modules in total. This course is aimed at anyone in a team lead or supervisory role that has had no formal people management training to date but we also take on Managers in need of a re-fresher course.
Duration: Three monthly morning modules of your choice.

COURSE CONTENT:
WHAT IS EXPECTED OF A FRONT-LINE MANAGER
It is imperative that you understand the key areas of responsibility you have as a manager, supervisor or team leader. Understanding what is expected of you in your supervisory role is your starting point. We also examine the sometimes painful transition from being a team member to a newly appointed supervisor.
TIME MANAGEMENT
Planning and organising your scarcest resource, your time. On this module we look at techniques for getting tasks done. Time is your most valuable resource, and must be spent wisely. We discuss recognised methods of planning and prioritizing your weekly tasks. We also look at how to deal with time thieves!!
LEADERSHIP STYLES
We examine the different styles of leadership available to you as a leader and look at how and when t o use them. Advantages and disadvantages of each leadership style are also discussed. You also get the opportunity to examine and discuss your current style of leadership as maybe you might need to modify your current style?
STAFF MOTIVATION
Understand the benefits of having a highly motivated team. Learn the basic principles of staff motivation, knowing when and how to implement them. Learn how to recognise and help de-motivated team members.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Communication is the key to successful supervision. Communicating clearly with your team encourages overall staff performance. We also look at how to communicate effectively on a one to one or on a group basis.
DELEGATING TASKS
On this module we look at how to delegate the various tasks to your team and be able to inspect what you expect. Good supervisors are judged on the performance and results achieved from others as well as their own personal performance.
HOW TO DEAL WITH PEOPLE PROBLEMS
Learn to resolve conflict situations in a professional and practical way and maintain a positive work environment. We also examine the difference between being assertive and aggressive. This session stresses the importance of keeping your professional distance in any potential conflict or disciplinary situation that you may find yourself involved in.
