Sketchup Level 2

This course is designed for users with prior knowledge of the program or those who have completed level 1  and will run from 10am till 5pm

    • Creating presentations in Layout, part of the SketchUp family
    • Overview of Layout interface
    • Understanding the relationship between the 2 platforms
    • Creating and customising presentation templates
    • Creating viewports
    • Linking SketchUp model to Layout
    • Updating Model references and edits
    • Scene management
    • Adding text and dimensions
    • Scaling viewports
    • Showing the finished 3D model in a variety of vantage points for client presentation
    • Importing images
    • Exporting files in PDF

     

    Outcome

    Aim of the session will be to have a presentation created using Layout, working in tandem with the users SketchUp model.

    Understanding the interface of the Layout platform and the relationship with the SketchUp 3D model as well as the modifying and editing tools and capabilities of the combined platforms.

 

Ger Cooney is a highly experienced Interior Architect and 3D designer with over 10 years in industry. His career includes collaborations with leading paint brands such as Colourtrend and Curator, developing colour collections and trend forecasting, as well as working on a variety of commercial projects.

Ger has been a lecturer in institutions such as The Interior Design Academy of Ireland and TUS Limerick. He has also developed a number of courses online in conjunction with DPP Skillnet.

Preparation – Up to date version of SketchUp Pro where possible for this course. However users with older versions are also welcomed.

SketchUp pro can be downloaded as a trial for 30 days and give the end user an indication of the programs potential.

Software must be installed prior to start of the course.

Equipment – Compatibility of software & computer hardware can be obtained from the SketchUp site, www.sketchup.com just to ensure compatibility.

Scroll wheel mouse An essential piece of hardware. Users without a scroll wheel mouse will find it very slow and tedious to navigate the program.

Operating systems 

Course open to windows and Mac based users. The course will be demonstrated using Windows interface with support provided also for Mac users.

Resources / Assets

SketchUp Reference cards will be emailed to all attendees prior to the start of the course.

Presentation Delivery 

Course delivery through Zoom. Attendees will have sharing permissions to check on progress and provide assistance as required.

In order for us to continue to bring you subsidized content we will require you to fill out a profile sheet which will be emailed to you after your booking – completion of this sheet guarantees you a place on the training.

Please note our training courses are only available for people residing in the Republic of Ireland

Please note training sessions are live interactive classes and recordings are not available after the event.
