Introduction to Canva

Canva is a versatile, user-friendly design platform for creatives to easily produce quality graphics, videos, presentations, and more. With its intuitive drag-and-drop interface, Canva is ideal for both beginners and experienced designers.

The program offers a vast library of templates, stock photos, fonts, and design elements.

Enabling users to create everything from social media posts to business presentations, making it an essential tool for creatives in a variety of industries.

This course is for Interior designers, stylists, and other creative professionals looking to elevate their branding, presentations, and portfolios using Canva.

Objective

Familiarise learners with Canva’s platform and its capabilities.

• Overview of Canva
• Understanding Canva’s interface (dashboard, toolbar, and workspace).
• Free Pro: What’s included in the subscription tiers.
• Setting up your Canva account (personalised branding options).

Practical Exercise – Create a simple design using Canva’s templates.

Ger Cooney is a highly experienced Interior Architect and 3D designer with over 10 years in industry. His career includes collaborations with leading paint brands such as Colourtrend and Curator, developing colour collections and trend forecasting, as well as working on a variety of commercial projects.

Ger has been a lecturer in institutions such as The Interior Design Academy of Ireland and TUS Limerick. He has also developed a number of courses online in conjunction with DPP Skillnet.

Course Prerequisites

Participants need to have Canva installed in either free or pro version prior to start of class www.canva.com
