The emerging areas of User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) design are rapidly progressing and it’s now becoming essential for digital designers to expand their own understanding within these domains too.

This programme will cover the foundations of UX and UI design, exploring the terminology and key practices involved in getting started with creating interactive digital prototypes suitable for testing with potential users, as well as walking designers through the user testing phases, enabling them to take ideation to the next level and create a fully fleshed out model of what an app or website will be, ready to pass along to a developer. We will explore a range of professionally practiced UX research methods; some essential psychology behind UI design; prototyping through ideation, low fidelity and high fidelity interactive Adobe XD prototypes; and how to undertake and evaluate user testing procedures.

Understanding and employing UX research methodologies to get started with creating low fidelity prototypes through Adobe XD.

Areas covered include: terminology, application, key areas of UX research, creating paper prototypes and getting started with Adobe XD to create low fidelity prototypes.

Enhancing your designs into high fidelity prototypes using Adobe XD and refining those designs through undertaking user testing procedures.

Key areas of UI research, advanced functions of Adobe XD available for creating high fidelity prototypes, usability testing, analysing data from user testing and incorporating revisions.

About Bex – After working as a graphic designer and illustrator for over ten years, spending many years as a publishing professional also, Bex undertook a Masters in UX and Interaction Design, giving her a unique perspective on design through a diverse understanding of both print and digital technologies.

She is now actively working as a writer, illustrator, graphic designer, UX and UI designer, lecturer and publishing professional specialising in print production. She has worked with many leading brands and organisations, in addition to publishing two illustrated children’s books and has many more projects in development.
