DPP Skillnet Celebrates Print Excellence at the Irish Print Awards

DPP Skillnet was delighted to attend the Irish Print Awards, which took place last Friday in the stunning surroundings of Clontarf Castle Hotel. The event brought together professionals from across Ireland’s thriving print industry to celebrate innovation, craftsmanship, and creativity in print.

Now in its 45th year, the Irish Print Awards continue to recognise and reward excellence across all areas of the sector. With 30 award categories, including the newly introduced Women Leading in Print, this years awards was one of the biggest and most exciting yet. The awards have long served as a platform for showcasing the remarkable talent and progress within the industry—and this year was no exception.

For DPP Skillnet, one of the evening’s proudest moments was the presentation of the Canon Bursary to the three winners of the Print Media Technician Award. The bursary was awarded as part of our ongoing commitment to supporting education, training, and upskilling within the print and packaging sector. The award was presented by Michael Grimes of Canon and Joe O’Callaghan, Network Manager at DPP Skillnet, who were honoured to recognise the achievements of the next generation of print professionals.

One of the evening’s most meaningful moments was when Irish Printing Federation Chair, Diarmuid Dawson, presented the Lifetime Achievement Award to Donal Forsyth, recognising his outstanding contribution to the Irish print industry over many decades.

Congratulations to all the winners and nominees—and thank you to the organisers for hosting such a fantastic event. We’re proud to be part of a network that continues to grow, innovate, and inspire.

This DPP Skillnet programme is co-funded by the Government of Ireland, the European Union, and our network companies. Learn More.
